About Out of Sight! Tours

Out of Sight Tours specialises in small group and private 4WD tours through the South West region of Western Australia. Based in the picturesque sea-side town of Denmark, and located not far from amazing Albany and wondrous Walpole, our tours are the perfect way to get off the beaten track and experience the wonders of Australia’s only internationally recognized biodiversity hotspot.

We are committed to building a sustainable future for our community, and believe that the best way to protect our natural environment is to educate people about the unique flora, fauna and geology of this precious region. Learning is most effective when visitors get to experience the world around them in an informative, fun and relaxed manner. Our customers take home memories and knowledge that stay with them for a life time.

Dr Dave

The inspiration and driving force behind Out Of Sight! Tours is Dr Dave - the Adventure Doctor.

In Southern Africa the jungle boy (now the Adventure Doctor) was born. As a child he defied death in his encounters with black mambas and angry hippos. A few years later he sailed away to the Land of Oz (Australia) in search of new adventures.

Captured by a fascination with scientific discovery he spent many years in the dungeons of academia working at the cutting edge of healthcare innovation in an environment filled with snakes and tragic stories of leadership and exploitation. Occasionally, he would escape to the wild backcountry of Australia’s Mt. Kosciusko region or trek through some of the world’s great national parks. Luckily he escaped from his research laboratory and reclaimed the spirit of adventure, which he found after trekking across the Nullarbor to the south west of Gondwanaland.

These days you will find him climbing the majestic peaks of the Stirling Ranges; bushwalking on the Bibbulmun Track amongst the rare and awe inspiring tingle trees of the Walpole Wilderness area; exploring the rugged coastline of West Cape Howe National Park; or soul surfing in the Great Southern Ocean. Or, maybe you’ll just find him enjoying a nice glass of red wine at one of Denmark’s many wineries, talking about past adventures and adventures yet to be had. On the more serious side...

Dr Dave (BInfoTechComm. (Hons), PhD, ACHI) is a fully licensed tour operator accredited with the Western Australian Department of Environment and Conservation. He is a member of the William Bay National Park Association and a member of the Denmark Historical Society. He is also available from time to time as a conference or workshop speaker, contract field guide and leadership/inspirational coach.

Lenore, the CEO

The guiding hand behind the scenes at Out of Sight Tours is Lenore, affectionately known to all as ‘the CEO’. Lenore is based in the Eco-Discovery Shop – our adventure headquarters – located in the Denmark Visitor Centre. When she established the shop in 2009, Lenore’s vision was to develop a unique store that showcased earth-friendly products that support a sustainable and ethical lifestyle.

Today, the shop has a reputation for stocking a range of recycled, low carbon, fair trade and sustainable forest products. Prior to joining Out of Sight Tours, Lenore worked for many years as a research scientist (PhD, Sociology) and brings to our company a passion for people, sustainability, and community development. She gets out on the Bibbulmun Track as often as she can, and can often be found exploring the region’s lesser known walking and cycling trails.

Rosie

The newest recruit to Out of Sight Tours, Rosie arrived in Australia from the UK in 2001 and loved it so much she decided to stay. An avid bushwalker, runner and Denmark enthusiast, Rosie jumped at the chance to join the Out of Sight team. Rosie is trained as an Ecologist (M Sc) and has a background in environmental and outdoor education and natural resource management. She enjoys running around in the bush and generally packing as much fun as possible into one lifetime.

With a passion for the environment, she feels privileged to live in such a special corner of the world and gets out to explore our local landscape as often as she can. The urge for exploration has also taken her to many different countries, most recently a round-the-world trip taking in New Zealand, South America, Canada, UK and Malaysia.
